Behold, Lagerpom...

In one corner of the ring, weighing in at several shades of rich and crazy: a waiting list of 600 (and counting), Karl-worshiping, fur-loving fashionistas; and, in the blue corner, weighing in at $1,685: a furry little Lagerpom. For those of us unfortunate enough to have more money than sense, all hail Fendi's limited edition 'Bag Boy Karlito' (Delevingne not included in retail selling price)

As pretentiously cute as our little Karlito may be, with black mink sunnies, a sleek, silver fox torso and a head of perfectly coiffed goat's fur, PETA campaigners are no doubt breaking into a nervous shiver and rapidly filling up their Birkins with self-raising flour.

For the inevitable hoards of animal rights activists, the real (less furry) Karl - who has been Fendi's designer of fur and ready-to-wear goods since 1967 - will, no doubt, have some scathing remark to be easily dug out from his long list of famous vitriolic outbursts. In between calling Adele 'fat' and Pippa Middleton 'ugly', Karl has previously claimed that the debate on fur is a 'childish' one and that he is merely "killing those beasts that would kill us if they could". In all fairness, when little Lagerpom comes equipped with sarcastic humour and bitchy remarks, I might just invest...

But, for now, as I sit and imagine what a grave and dark day that it will be when foxes and goats start manufacturing self-portrait-style trinkets made from human artefacts to wear swinging from their tails, I can't help but think that Karl and I aren't on the same wavelength here...And please, bear in mind that all of this pro-fur talk is coming from an 80-year-old man who worships his iPad-owning cat as if design ideas came spouting out of its backside - a cat that will, in fact, be fronting Karl's new make-up campaign. Wait, what?
